This process involves three tiers:

Tier 1: Universal Supports
In this tier, the district implements evidence-based practices that benefit all students. This includes high-quality instruction, differentiated teaching strategies, and ongoing assessments to monitor progress.

Tier 2: Targeted Interventions
For students who require additional support, District 35 provides targeted interventions. These interventions are tailored to specific needs, such as small group instruction or specialized programs to address academic, social emotional or behavioral challenges.

Tier 3: Intensive Interventions
Students who continue to struggle despite Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions receive more intensive and individualized support. This may involve personalized learning plans, one-on-one support, and collaboration with external resources like counselors or specialists.

Through the MTSS process, District 35 ensures a systematic and data-driven approach to support all students, helping them achieve academic and behavioral success. If you have questions regarding the MTSS process or specific support services, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
