Modern Languages
Central School’s Modern Language program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to become proficient in their chosen language while adhering to the World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages (WRSLL). The program focuses on the development of students' communication, cultural competence, and critical thinking in the target language.
5th grade students continue their Modern Language instruction from West School with Spanish and 6th through 8th grade students may choose Spanish or French.
By integrating these components and adhering to the WRSLL, District 35's middle school modern language program strives to produce linguistically and culturally competent students who are well-prepared to interact in a globalized world and appreciate the richness of diverse languages and cultures.
