Erin’s Law within District 35

In January 2013, the State of Illinois passed Erin’s Law which requires that children in grades pre-kindergarten through high school are educated on the topics of child sexual abuse awareness and prevention. In addition, all District 35 staff members are also trained on this topic and taught to recognize warning signs. Such training occurs annually prior to the student sessions in each school. Parents will be notified in writing prior to the student sessions to share additional details and provide an opportunity for questions.

In fact, all of these sources also tested below the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) notification level of 5 ppb. Please read the District 35 letter for the full details of our update.
