The Fall PTO Urban Suburban Clothing Drive is almost here! Starting Monday, April 12 through Thursday, April 16, we will be collecting gently-used, clean clothing (no toys or household goods please) for students at the Chicago International Charter School’s (CICS) Prairie Campus. Gently-used clothing for infant through adult will be accepted.
All clothing will be donated to the Chicago International Charter School’s (CICS) Prairie Campus. The campus includes students from Kindergarten through eighth grade. Enriching and exciting courses await Glencoe students participating in District 35's Summer Explorations. The summer school program at West School runs each morning from June 8th to July 3rd. The summer programming at South School will run each morning from June 15th to July 3rd. The majority of classes will be hosted at West School.
Online registration for District 35 Summer Explorations will begin Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. Some classes have limited space and early registration is encouraged.

Illinois law requires proof of an eye examination by an optometrist or physician who provides complete eye exams be submitted as a child enters kindergarten or is new to an Illinois school. Providing a safe and secure learning environment continues to be a priority for our District. While events across our nation have resulted in increased attention to safety and security in our schools, we have a long history of addressing these issues. In the wake of recent school shootings, the District has taken many steps to reevaluate the safety and security of our students and faculty. As part of this effort, the Glencoe Board of Education established the District Safety and Security Committee in 2013. The Committee’s objective was to assess and enhance the safety practices and procedures of the District 35 schools.

Registrations, other than those for Park District ONLY, received/postmarked after Friday, May 29, 2015 will be subject to a late fee of $50.00 per student. When a family in Glencoe faces a major medical crisis the PTO offers lunch at no charge (during this time) to the children of the family enrolled in District 35 Schools. The intent of the PTO is to assist the family and offer some relief during this time. With the support of our 8th Grade Executive Cabinet, we have added three collections across our schools (in addition to the CapriSun & TREX in place). You can help raise money for the school and charities chosen by the students. This year the list of charities includes the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Cancer Society and Autism Speaks. You or your children can bring the following items to South, West or Central and deposit them in the receptacles by the front offices.

Welcome back to the 2014-2015 school year! We thank parents and visitors for following these security procedures when you visit our schools.
All visitors are asked to present a valid drivers license or state ID to enter the school each time they visit. This identification information will be stored in our system and scanned through the national registries at each visit.

After 17 years of exemplary service as Superintendent of our District, Dr. Cathlene Crawford is retiring. The Board of Education has completed a very thorough and intensive search process, including reviewing applications from numerous superb educators and interviewing a highly qualified pool of internal and external candidates.
We are very pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2015 Dr. Catherine Wang will assume the role of Superintendent of Schools, Glencoe District 35.
