• Collections Across our Schools

    With the support of our 8th Grade Executive Cabinet, we have added three collections across our schools (in addition to the CapriSun & TREX in place). You can help raise money for the school and charities chosen by the students. This year the list of charities includes the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Cancer Society and Autism Speaks. You or your children can bring the following items to South, West or Central and deposit them in the receptacles by the front offices.
    • Food for Funds Collection of Grand Food receipts
    • Box Tops for Education Collection
    • Pop Tab Collection
    • Capri Sun juice pouches (through TerraCycle)

  • Urban-Suburban Clothing Drive: October 20th-23rd

    The Fall PTO Urban Suburban Clothing Drive is almost here. Please bring our gently used, clean clothing to the drop off locations at South, West, or Central schools beginning October 20th. We will be collecting clothing through October 23rd.

    WHAT: Gently-used, clean clothing for infants through adult
    WHERE: All 3 schools in Glencoe District #35... storage crates will be located outside the main entrances

    WHY: To help and support the needs of Chicago International Charter Schools’ (CSIS) Prairie Campus where the student body is demographically similar to Chicago’s other public schools – 86% are low-income, 96% are minority and many are second-language learners (www.chicagointl.org).

  • Share Your Excess Candy!

    The Glencoe Schools are collecting excess Halloween candy. Drop off your excess candy November 3rd - November 7th in the designated candy bins at South, West or Central School. The collections will be shared with the Leukemia Research Foundation to be used in gift bags for an upcoming fundraising event. Thank you!

  • Parent Tech Boot Camp - October 25th

    Raising digital natives can be a challenge. Technology changes at a breakneck pace and keeping up is a full time job. On October 25th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the New Trier Township schools will host a Technology Boot Camp. The goal of the Boot Camp is to help parents better navigate this bold new world. Parents will select from one to four 45 - minute sessions.

    Presentations will focus on several learning strands including, but not limited to: cyber bullying, managing device settings, tools students are using at school, and understanding digital natives.   • New Trier Referendum

    New Trier has approved a Referendum which will appear on the November voting ballot. The Referendum, if successful, will provide funds for facilities improvements at the school which has not been renovated since the 1950's. If approved, the referendum will make the buildings at New Trier High School accessible to people with disabilities. In addition,
    - it will add 25 core academic classrooms
    - it will double the amount of usable space from 125,000 to 275,000 square feet on the same footprint
    - it will raise tax bills in the New Trier district by $250 for every $15,000 in current taxes

  • Security in our Schools

    Welcome back to the 2014-2015 school year! We thank parents and visitors for following these security procedures when you visit our schools.
    All visitors are asked to present a valid drivers license or state ID to enter the school each time they visit. This identification information will be stored in our system and scanned through the national registries at each visit.

    All visitors will be issued an orange lanyard that should be worn in a visible location while in the school. When exiting the building please return to the main office, sign-out and collect your license/ID.

  • Superintendent Search

    After 17 years of service as the Superintendent of School District 35, Dr. Cathlene Crawford is retiring in June 2015. The Board of Education (BOE) has begun the process to find her successor. The selection of the next Superintendent of Schools is one of the Board’s most important duties and the Board vows to provide a search process as comprehensive, transparent, and thoughtful as possible.

  • Required Medical Forms

    Please note the following medical record requirements for public schools. Should you have questions, please call the school nurse (South School: 847-835-6440, West School: 847-835-6640 and Central School: 847-835-7640).

    Illinois law requires proof of an eye examination by an optometrist or physician who provides complete eye exams be submitted as a child enters kindergarten or is new to an Illinois school. The exam must be completed within one year prior to your child beginning school. All forms must be turned in by October 15th. Download the EYE EXAM form here.
