Author, James Klise
Seventh and eighth grade Literacy Block classes had a ‘writers workshop’ experience with author, James Klise. He visited on Monday, February 26 and Tuesday, February 27. He spoke about his writing process, the steps necessary for writing an engaging story, and his inspiration to be a writer. He is an award winner author of Love Drugged and The Art of Secrets. His third book, another mystery, will be published in the Fall of 2019. James Klise is an Illinois native, being born and raised in Peoria. He attended college in Washington, DC, and graduate school in Columbia, Missouri. He also earned a master’s degree in Creative Writing from Bennington College in Vermont. Mr. Klise sold his first short story in 1996. He has written many short stories, book reviews, and works full-time as a school librarian in a Chicago high school.
